TETCO, the Thermal Energy Transfer Company, started in 1977, making it one of the most time-tested geothermal brands on the market. Before geothermal heat pumps had a universal, designated name, TETCO was creating quality systems. This brand and the people behind it have dedicated over 30 years to providing innovative, earth-friendly comfort.
Much like TETCO, our CEO and President, Steve, dedicated his professional career to geothermal. He was introduced to the technology in 1983 as the Director of Member Services for a southwestern Illinois electric cooperative. After learning more and seeing the benefits for both homeowners and the cooperative, he helped start and fully managed a geothermal distribution company owned by several electric cooperatives.
With a mission to provide the best customer service, Steve and his wife, Karen, started Enertech Inc., a geothermal heat pump distribution company in Greenville, IL. And in 2007, Enertech started manufacturing its own geothermal heat pump brands including, TETCO geothermal systems. As Enertech grew, the name evolved to Enertech Global and is now a part of NIBE Climate Solutions.
TETCO's leadership team works tirelessly to further the geothermal heat pump industry as a whole, serving the Geothermal Exchange Organization (GEO) in various ways, speaking at industry-related events, and demonstrating thought leadership through blogs and articles.

TETCO is the original geothermal heat pump. Our heat pumps are built in the heart of America, Mitchell, SD, by our team devoted to sustained improvement and quality control. TETCO offers generous warranty options as a testament to the quality of each unit we build. Before leaving Mitchell, each TETCO system runs in both the heating and cooling mode to ensure its performing optimally.
As the pioneer for modern comfort, TETCO's advanced product designs exceed home and building owners’ needs. Specialized component selection, with a strong effort to buy American-made parts, elevates the quality of a TETCO system, creating a competitive advantage. As an example, all TETCO vertical-packaged units have micro-channel air coils, not a standard in the industry, which helps prevent corrosion for a longer lifespan and further reliability. We implemented this change first as a direct response to customer feedback and an industry-wide need. Additionally, an ECM blower motor, which ensures quiet start-up and operates at a fraction of the cost when compared to conventional blower motors, comes standard with TETCO systems.
TETCO strives to offer more at every turn, which includes hot water assist. This comes standard on all residential systems and captures unused heat that can be applied to water heating, typically cutting hot water costs 25% - 40%. Unit for unit, TETCO geothermal systems have higher heating capacities than competing geothermal equipment, resulting in lower heating costs for home and building owners
When you start the journey to purchase a TETCO system, you join a family that values quality, craftsmanship, and comfort above all else. We're committed to offer you a product that keeps you comfortable for its lifetime, all while offering genuine customer care for the lifetime of the system.
Our approach to geothermal heat pumps and customer care starts with listening to our installers, distributors, and home and building owners. We're committed to making the best products even better by always taking the needs of homeowners, builders, architects, designers, and our dealer and distributor network into account. It's simple, without acting on customer input, we wouldn't be successful. Let's keep making heat pumps better together.
